A Stephen
Minister's Prayer |
Thank you, Jesus,
for giving us the opportunity to serve You!
May we commit
ourselves anew each day to humbly, meekly,
and zealously seek and follow Your will. |
 |
| |
When we visit our care receivers,
we pray that it is as Your instrument and in Your
name!
May all that is said and done bring praise, glory, and honor to
You!
Keep us ever mindful that:
Though it is our face they see we pray
that it is a face that reflects God’s love.
Though it is our voice they hear, we pray that the words
bring God’s understanding and comfort.
When we hold their hand,
we pray that it is the Master’s touch they feel.
When we hug them, we pray that they are surrounded
by God’s strength and support.

When we cry with them,
we pray that they know that God cries with them,
and washes them with His wisdom, peace and love and brings
them comfort and hope through His awesome grace!
When we share a moment of joy with them,
we pray that we will always offer praise and
thanksgiving to God!
In Your precious name we pray,
Amen. |

When Stephen Ministers reach out to other
people with love and compassion a
powerful spiritual connection is made. The spirit of God in the
Stephen Minister
flows out to uplift the spirits of people in need of comfort and
caring. There is a
response from the spirit of God within the one’s being cared for
also. This is a
heart and soul connection that blesses those who give and those
who receive.
Being a Stephen Minister brings out the best in the one who
gives and the one
who receives.

H-E-A-L
Here,
Empathetic,
Accepting,
Listening.
Stephen Ministers connect us to God’s love in a powerful way.
Stephen Ministers are healing people who are:
|
Here
for you when you need them. They’re willing to be with you and
make
time for you.
They know that their presence is one of the greatest gifts
they
can give.
Empathetic. No one else can truly
understand what you’re feeling but people
with
empathy will do their best to understand and to let some of your
pain
touch them.
Accepting. They don’t try to change
you, judge you, try you, or tell you
what you
should do or how you should think or feel.
Listening. They really focus on
what you have to say. They let you share
your feelings and know how important it is for you to tell your
story.
