  God's Rainbow of Love

God’s Rainbow of Love is an after-school program for children in Kindergarten
through 6th grade. The group meets every Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
from September through May. The children enjoy Bible study, music, crafts, food,
and games.

The children sponsor a Fellowship Potluck Dinner and Program at the end of
each semester. This gives them an opportunity to share with the congregation
and community what they have learned in G.R.O.L. by singing, acting, and wearing costumes that represent the theme studied during each semester.

Themes include Christmas Traditions Around the World, Liberty Village (an
American Tour of Faith and Freedom), Peace Around the World (learning about different cultures and what makes them unique), Truth Trackers (learning the
ABC’s of becoming a Christian, the Ten Commandments, and Bible characters),
and Camp Creation (learning about God’s unconditional love) and The Risen
Warrior .

What is a Rainbow?

After a storm we often see a beautiful rainbow in the sky. A rainbow is a curved
arc of light across the sky with colors consisting of red, orange, yellow, green,
blue, and purple. Rainbows are caused by the sun’s shining through drops of
water during or after a rain. The Bible tells us the rainbow is a symbol of the
promise God made to all people and animals. The story of the rainbow can
be found in Genesis 9.

Genesis 9:8-15 (NLT)

Then God told Noah and his sons, "I am making with you and your descendants,
and with the animals you brought with you -- all these birds and livestock and
wild animals. I solemnly promise never to send another flood to kill all living
creatures and destroy the earth. And God said, “I am giving you a sign as
evidence of my eternal covenant with you and all living creatures. I have placed
my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my permanent promise to you and to
all the earth. When I send clouds over the earth, the rainbow will be seen in the
clouds, and I will remember my covenant with you and with everything that lives."
