The name Jesus comes from the Greek word Joshua meaning God is Salvation. There are more than 500 different names in the Bible used to describe Jesus and the New Testament contains 154 of them. The most frequently used name for Jesus is Son of Man. It appears 82 times in the New Testament. Son of Man is used to represent the humanity of Jesus, as compared to Son of God, which signifies His divinity. Jesus means "the Lord saves." In Hebrew, Messiah means ”anointed one.”
