When I was a little boy, my mother used
to embroider a great deal. I would sit at
her knee
and look up from the floor and ask what she was doing. She
informed
me that she was embroidering. I told her that it looked
like a mess from where I
was. As from the underside
I watched her work within the boundaries of the little
round
hoop that she held in her hand,
I complained to her that it sure looked messy
from where I sat.
She would smile at me,
look down and gently say, “My son, you
go about your playing for
awhile, and when I am
finished with my embroidering,
I will put you on my knee and let
you see it from my side.”
I would wonder why she was using some dark threads along with
the bright ones
and why
they seemed so jumbled from my view. A few minutes would pass
and
then I would hear
Mother's voice say, “Son, come and sit on my knee.”
This I did only to be surprised and thrilled to see a beautiful
flower or a sunset.
I could not
believe it, because from underneath it looked so messy. Then
Mother
would say to me,
“My son, from underneath it did look messy and jumbled, but
you
did not realize that there
was a pre-drawn plan on the top. It was a design.
I was only
following it. Now look at it
from my side and you will see what I was
doing.”
Many times through the years I have looked up to my Heavenly
Father and said,
“Father,
what are You doing?” He has answered, “I am embroidering your
life.”
I say, “But it looks
like a mess to me. It seems so jumbled. The threads seem
so
dark. Why can’t they all be
bright?” The Father seems to tell me, “My child,
you go about
your business of doing My business, and one day I will bring you
to Heaven and put you on My knee and you will
see the plan from My side.”

God Gave Me Love
GOD gave me love -- no strings attached
GOD gifted me with peace -- unmatched.
GOD was my crutch -- to help me stand,
GOD gave to me -- His helping hand.
GOD was my strength -- when I was weak,
GOD heard my heart -- cry out and speak.
GOD always knew -- if I felt bad,
GOD cheered me up -- when I was sad.
GOD listened to my -- tales of woe,
GOD wiped the tears -- that I let flow.
GOD gave me comfort -- when I cried,
GOD gave forgiveness -- when I lied.
GOD set me on a righteous path,
GOD GAVE HIS SON -- ON MY BEHALF.
For all these things I had not earned,
What could I give Him in return?
I raised my arms; I bowed my head,
Take me; I’m Yours, was all I said.

God Will Never
The will of God will never take you …
Where the grace of God cannot keep you,
Where the arms of God cannot support you,
Where the riches of God cannot supply your needs,
Where the power of God cannot endow you.
The will of God will never take you …
Where the spirit of God cannot work through you,
Where the wisdom of God cannot teach you,
Where the army of God cannot protect you,
Where the hands of God cannot mold you.
The will of God will never take you …
Where the love of God cannot enfold you,
Where the mercies of God cannot sustain you,
Where the peace of God cannot calm your fears,
Where the authority of God cannot overrule for you.
The will of God will never take you …
Where the comfort of God cannot dry your tears,
Where the Word of God cannot feed you,
Where the miracles of God cannot be done for you,
Where the omnipresence of God cannot find you.

Got to go -- Get to go
Often we wake up late on Sunday morning and are tired, we think
that we have
“got”
to go to church. It is not that we have “got” to go to church,
but that we “GET”
to go to
church! It is a privilege to gather with fellow believers and
worship our
great God and
Savior. By just changing a vowel, it goes from being a task to
being an opportunity!
Sometimes we realize very late at night that we haven’t read our
Bible yet that
day.
We have the mindset that we have “got” to read the Bible, but we
must not
view it as
a chore. It’s not that we have “got” to read our Bible, but we
“GET” to
read the holy
Word of God. We have the chance to nourish our spirit with
eternal
food at any point
during the day that we choose. Jesus said, Man shall not live by
bread alone, but by
every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4)
Many times we have the mindset that we have “got” to tithe our
money to God. We
most definitely have the wrong mindset. It is not that we have
“got” to tithe and give
our money to the work of the Lord, but that we “GET” to! Giving
back to God is a
privilege. Me must learn to view it that way.
Many people consider it a chore to sing loud and from the heart
to the Lord that we
love. They appear to have the mindset that they have “got” to
praise and worship
God.
Instead, they should realize that we “GET” to worship the King
of kings with
our entire
being! Psalm 150 gives us a good example of how we should
worship
Him:
Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His
mighty firmament!
Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His
excellent great news!
Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; Praise Him with the
lute and harp! Praise
Him with the timbre and dance; Praise Him with stringed
instruments and flutes!
Praise Him with loud cymbals! Praise Him with clashing cymbals!
Let everything
that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the Lord!
By the way, when we die, it is not that we have “got” to go to
heaven, but that we
“GET” to go to heaven! Change your mindset from one in which you
have “got” to
share your faith to realizing that you “GET” to share your faith
with all the lost people
you until you get to heaven.

Grandma and the Cake
A little boy is telling his Grandma how “everything” is going
wrong. School, family
problems, severe health problems, etc... Meanwhile, Grandma is
baking a cake.
She asks her grandson if he would like a snack, which of course
he does.
“Here, have some cooking oil.” “Yuck” says the boy. “How about a
couple raw
eggs? “
“Gross, Grandma!” “Would you like some flour then? Or maybe
baking
soda?” “Grandma,
those are all yucky!” To which Grandma replies: "Yes, all those
things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put
together in the right way,
they make a wonderfully
delicious cake!”

God works
the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let
us go through such bad and difficult times. But God knows that
when
He puts these things all in His order, they always work for
good. We
just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make
something wonderful!
