O come let us
sing for joy to the LORD;
Let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation!
Let us come into His presence with thanksgiving;
Let us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise!

Our Music Ministry is an essential part
of the worship experience and we
place a great deal of value in its role. Music can life our
spirits, heal emotional
wounds, and inspire us. Our Music Ministry is one of the most
outstanding
aspects of our Church. Singing is a fun and powerful way to
worship and we
look forward to sharing the gift of music with you. |
Sanctuary Choir
We have an outstanding 50 member Sanctuary Choir. Traditional,
classical,
gospel, and contemporary music are used to enhance the spirit
for worship.
The Sanctuary Choir sings weekly at the 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
Traditional
Worship Services and for special celebrations. The Sanctuary
Choir annually
presents a Lenten-Easter and Advent-Christmas Concert. Our Hand
Bell Choir,
a brass and woodwind ensemble, and a chamber orchestra accompany
the
choir for these concerts and periodically during our regular
worship services.
The Sanctuary Choir participates in many inter-denominational
community
events. Solo, duets, and ensemble music are offered during the
summer
months while the Sanctuary Choir takes a hiatus. |
Hand
Bell Choir
Our Hand Bell Choir periodically performs at the
8:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m.,
and 11:00 a.m. Traditional Worship Services. Each year we
participate
in a Hand Bell Workshop with other churches in our community.
Hand Chime Choir
The Hand Chimes Choir is an inter-generations
choir ranging from
elementary students through adults. Our Hand Bell and Sanctuary
Choirs
also use the chimes. No rehearsals are scheduled at this time.
Joyful Singers
VNUMC offers a music program for elementary school age children
called
“The Joyful Singers,” which is part of our Wednesday
after-school program
“God’s Rainbow of Love.” The Joyful Singers perform for the 9:30
a.m. Family
Traditional Worship Service once a month and presents a program
of musical
selections twice per year for a Potluck Fellowship Dinner. |
Singing is like praying twice! |

Adopt-An-Anthem or Offertory
You may contribute to our Music Ministry, as well as, to the
budgeting and
financing of all the ministries in our Church by presenting an
anthem in honor
or memory of an individual, place, or special event. These
adopted anthems
are recognized in the bulletins to share with the congregation.
Child Care Music Class
A weekly music appreciation and singing class is offered to all
the children
enrolled in our Child Care Center. The students are introduced
to different
instruments and learn religious, patriotic, exercise, and fun
songs. The class
participates in musical programs within our Church and
community.
Pipe Organ
In 1989, VNUMC purchased and rebuilt a 36 rank Moeller-Helms
Pipe Organ
for our Sanctuary. It took several years for us to complete the
task, a labor of
love by many members of our congregation. Many nationally known
organists
and the Venice Symphony use the organ for recitals and concerts. |
